Today was an amazing day. Words can't really describe what I experienced on the Soweto tour, which was an emotional and educational experience for all of us. Therefore, photos it is:
Temple students go to Soweto!
The stadium where the 2010 world cup took place:
Walter Sisulu Square:
Our visit to Kliptown:
Mandela Family Museum in Orlando West. This is where Nelson Mandela used to live, but now it has been made into a museum:
I must say, I absolutely love catching up on your life in South Africa. It looks like an amazing experience. I miss you dearly and have been praying for your safety :)
Quick question: Is that picture of a group of children in a school?
Is anyone doing an article on the education system there? I'd be very interested :)
Hi Kels! That picture wasn't taken at a school, it was at a community center in a Kliptown, a suburb of Soweto. There are actually a few of us covering the education system here in a week or so - it is much different than what we are used to (and very interesting)! I will be focusing one of my stories on education funding - I will keep you posted with mine and everyone elses too! I love and miss you! Thanks for commenting!
